WOO HOO!!! HOW IS EVERYBODY??!?!??!
Yes, the West Famine has successfully closed. Well, almost closed since we still have a lot of unpacking, returning of items (especially lost & found items), thank you calls, letters and notes to be done, updating the website etc etc. EVERYTHING to be done to show our gratitude and relief…because the West Famine was really quite awesome.
The staff were celebrating for a while and now, we have geared up for the next step. You know, a little break to walk the longer journey. The East Famine is next, we are focusing all our attention to that event, and even if it is a smaller event than the Famine that had just passed, we want to give it our best. It is the first ever 30-hour Famine in East Malaysia so we are going into unchartered territory and we are really not sure what to expect from the crowd there. But we pray that what we are preparing and doing would agree with them too.
Tomorrow, the 1st group of Famine staff would be heading to Miri for the Volunteer Training Day. The whole day, we have been running around the office, making sure everything is correct. One does get confused after a while because the West Famine material is SIMILAR but not the same. So there are changes to be identified and made. I especially salute the Logistics team because they have to start from scratch…a new location all together so new solutions as well.
But we are all keeping in mind that we managed the 5, 000 over campers camp and we are encouraged by that. I hope that every camper had a fantastic time during the camp and whatever that you have learned will stay with you and it will be generated into action in the near future.
Personally, I want to thank my Production team who worked so tirelessly with me for those 30 hours. You all ROCK!!!!

第一次参加饥饿30,也带着一群从未体验饥饿30小时的学生,一起来参加。
自从那天之后，才觉得很感恩，上天给了我一个很好的环境，真的觉得自己很幸福，对于爱浪费食物的学生，也很珍惜食物的可贵，世上真的太多不公平的事情了，虽然我们不能为这些孩子付出什么，但我们可以做到的是，教育我们的孩子、学生要懂得珍惜所拥有的一切，当我们要浪费食物的时候，应该先想想很多的人还在期待食物的出现。
饥饿30营最令我感动的是：1）残障人士精彩的表演，告诉了我要坚持的
活好每一天。
2）学生们有更深的体会。
3) 这个营会5千多人的精神

Frankly speaking, 30 famine was an extraordinary event to me. I just can’t believe that I finally made it. I kept praying to God for determination and courage from the 8th hour till the 30th hour in the camp. You Must be wondering why… ha haaa.. I never let the message of hunger reach my brain before.
I was so touched during 双福 and 美门 performance. They are tough guys. God bless.

i like the camp so much, it make some thing difference in my personality. overall, the camp is still too enjoy, hope next time can really feel the suffering feeling of the poor. Next year, i sure join as volunteer to help organizer to carry out this camp, love you, world vision and famine 30

Well, this is the third year I participate in this Famine camp which I think is the most successful camp… 5400 campers and volunteers together in Stadium Putra for this meaningful event!!! Great Job and compliment for the organizer and volunteers…. Erm, for this year overall is considered ok coz it’s quite messy actually(in my view) when conducted in bilingual… Hopefully next year the organizer will seek for a solution related to this if again it is the bilingual camp…
In the end, I would like to congratulate all the campers for supporting this meaningful and touching event… Hopefully next year I can see more people taking part and clock the first 10,000 record!!! For me I’m sure that I will take part in this camp as long as I’m eligible….

yes, it’s a great event! this is the second time i join the camp.. hehe..
hope that the camp can raise awareness among ppl n hope that more ppl will b the child sponsor after participating the camp..
i think the main purpose of this event is to gv us some info about the children, let us understand how the child suffered..
on the other hand, small concerts are only entertain us so that we’ll forget hunger.. yet, the participants seemed to gv more attention to the singers.. most of them went toilet or even slept during seminars..
no matter how, i enjoyed myself very much, in every programmes..

15/9 & 16/9/2007 我終於都完成了這重要的任務。很開心也很感動自己能參與今年的飢餓30﹗而且今年還破紀錄呢﹐一共有5400名營員參加, 場面好壯觀^^ 今年飢餓30的主題是 “因為你﹐孩有希望”很有意思。這次活動不但能幫助到貧困的人還能讓自己體驗到飢餓是怎樣的感覺﹐能讓自己領悟當中的真正意義﹗所以啊﹐我以後會珍惜食物﹗
世界宣名會為營員安排了很多活動﹐有分享交流會﹐飢餓考驗和挑戰活動﹐點歌寄語﹐有節目讓我們觀賞﹐還有愛心音樂會等﹗所有營員在開幕時一起宣誓飢餓30宣言。所以啊﹐一定不能偷吃東西﹗在營中我們只能喝水﹐其實真的會肚子餓﹐不過當大家都在參與活動和喝水就能挨餓了﹐很神奇吧﹗沒想到平時常肚子餓得我都能挨過30個小時﹗在營中的兩天內﹐看了很多很感人及很有意思的影片﹐讓我哭成淚人。就連唱飢餓30十週年主題曲“明天孩有希望”都苦﹐很喜歡這首歌﹐超好聽﹐超感人的歌詞﹗
很開心認識到215組的組長Connie﹐她很可愛。很認同她說的話﹐喜歡/愛就要說出口。謝謝﹐對不起﹐我愛你﹐這些話一定要常說﹐不然以後想說可能會沒機會﹗謝謝她教會我們那麼多﹐讓我知道貧困的人真正過得生活是怎樣的 -_- 我們真的很幸福。215組的營員們很高興認識你們^^別忘了我們相約明年飢餓30見哦﹗
記得當還剩下1個小時的時候﹐我們和216組合唱主題曲﹐唱了很多遍﹐因為我們的組長不滿意﹐哈哈^^ 最後播了這兩天飢餓30的照片﹐超感動的… 流淚了﹗大家都為了同一個目的聚在一起﹐也因為快要分離所以有點不捨得﹗當所有營員一起大合唱主題曲時﹐整個場地都是燈光﹐好美哦﹗唱下唱下又哭了﹗ 過後我們一起倒數解飢﹐原來大家都哭了﹗場面好感人啊﹗當時喝了那瓶豆奶﹐覺得真的太好喝了﹐特別珍貴。
這次的飢餓30讓我體會到我們真的很幸福﹐因為我們有得吃有得住﹐而且都是好的。當我們享受這些東西的同時有沒有想過在世界的另一個角落有小孩和很多人都吃不飽穿不暖﹐或是沒有棲身之所。更嚴重的他們可能根本就沒得吃沒得住﹐而我們卻還嫌棄自己現在所擁有的。真的很諷刺吧﹗經過這活動我會特別珍惜食物﹐決不浪費食物﹐珍惜當下﹐幫助需要幫助的人﹗我也助養了一位3歲的蒙古女孩,自己能幫助到人﹐感覺真的很開心﹗
最後謝謝各位勞苦功高的工作人員, 辛苦你們了﹗

This is my first time join this event , i feel so great and really enjoin it so much.
Me and my friend can’t believe that we finally can made it.(yeah… …. Kita boleh)
30 hours over our leader pass us the food I still can remember that”Gardenia banana cake taste good and yummy”. (ha….ha…. may be too hungry)
After this famine 30 hours camp I always remind myself not to waste the foods and water (he…he… also money) coz I can see that other poor people and country really need our help, with our help they really have hope.

I got to know lotz shocking facts regarding famine and poverty in this camp. Its my 2nd time here and the 1st time was 10 years ago, in the very 1st Famine Camp in Msia – at at time, i was still a student. I’ve been through ups and downs in life in this 10 years, and very glad i’m still as warm hearted as that time :p
Today, 6 Oct 2007, i submitted my Child Sponsorship form to WV office, and immediately i got the profiles and photos of my child. Looking at her picture, I cant express my feelings by word, but when i got into my car, tears dropping, and i guess that explained everything.
Realised that the East Msia Famine Camp is held today. Wish all organizing committees and voluntees all the best and for sure, lotz more ppl gonna realise how little effort we it take to change a child’s life !!
I will stand by you and help to spead the words !! Cheers !!
